Published by The Christadelphian December 2016. Author and illustrator - Bro. David. J Miles. 175 pages with hard cover. The pages are large format 31cm x 26cm (approx. 10" x 12").

With full colour illustrations throughout, this visual treat is for all those who wish they had been there to see the spectacle of the revelation that was given to the Apostle John. Perhaps you find that when you read Revelation you struggle to picture the visions. If so this new beautifully illustrated book will help stimulate imagination and insight when reading that very special message from the Lord Jesus which promises to bless every reader.

The author doesn’t aim to explain the Lord’s visual message, but presents his own depictions of what John might have seen, explaining how he produced them and who was involved, and compares his visual presentations with the attempts of other illustrators, like Albrecht Dürer, who have themselves sought to fire the imagination of readers in previous centuries.

"If you are seeking a verse by verse commentary on th Book of Revelation, this largely visual study is not for you. Furthermore, even as a visual commentary, it is incomplete ....... Shortcomings aside, this book seeks to present something of the wonder of words which appear as block shapes on a page which, when visualised, present the reader with images demanding the fullest attention".

This book is  beautifully produced, but its real value is that it will be an ideal companion for those wanting to improve their understanding of Revelation. The Thirteen Lectures on the Apocalypse by Brother Robert Roberts would be an excellent text to read alongside, image by image, and some of Brother Roberts’ views are picked up within the text accompanying the illustrations.
