Jude’s Epistle was written at a pivotal time in the history of the early ecclesias. There was apostasy abroad that threatened to make shipwreck of faith, and it was essential that the ecclesias recognised the danger and held onto the faith. In the same way this Epistle is of great relevance to the ecclesial world today, and we should take careful note of the warnings that Jude gives.
