This book seeks to open up the message of Zephaniah, a man who prophesied as Judah slid relentlessly towards judgement and destruction. His message was for a people living at the end of an age, with the judgement of God looming. There are direct parallels for us living in these last days of the Gentiles.
David Baird's exposition of the text of Zephaniah brings the details of the prophecy to life; he deftly exposes much that might otherwise be obscure and details that might easily be missed. While pointing out what the prophecy meant to the people of Zephaniah's time, he draws attention to the relevance of the text for those who live in another society and age.
David's exposition is complemented by a series of brief essays, referred to as "Applications", in which Gary Steel uses modern examples to demonstrate how the lessons of Zephaniah can be applied in our daily walk towards the Kingdom of God.
